Our brand for scent related products "SCENTLINQ" is crafted by combining 2 words which we think summarizes best what we do; "scent" and "link".
The sense of smell is part of air we breathe and it is the only sense you can't turn off. We smell every breath we take, and that's about 20,000 times a day on average. It is the most direct and basic sense.
Studies have shown that scent memory is the strongest kind of memory. The scents can be "memory markers" that help a person recall ("link") familiar brands more than unfamiliar ones.
"Marketers also love smell because it is the sense most directly linked to emotions", said Rachel Herz, a visiting professor specializing in olfactory cognition and emotions at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
A few decades ago, architects saw lighting as a luxury; now it has become a central aspect of spatial design. Scent will increasingly be used to draw out the sensual elements of public and private spaces.
Our goal is to link the emotions and memories that are burried deep in our olfactorial archive at a subliminal level, by the help of the most direct and powerful sense of smell and our perfectly captured scents. |
